What is a bequest?

A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. With the help of an advisor and/or by using a free will-making resource, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift be made to the Volunteer Services Council of the Richmond SSLC. 

SAMPLE LANGUAGE OF CHARITABLE BEQUESTS

(Last Will & Testament or Living Trust)

I give to the Volunteer Services Council of the Richmond SSLC (federal tax ID no. 74-6XXXXXX)

  • (Cash Bequest) the sum of _________dollars ($____).

  • (Percentage of Estate) ______percent (____%) of my estate.

  • (Residuary Bequest) the remainder of my estate.

  • (Stock/Personal Property)______shares of stock of ________  Corporation.

This gift shall be of further benefit of the _______ [gym, aquatics area, unit] and shall be used:

  • For the following purpose:_________________________(campus improvements, vocational training workshops, Music Fest, cultural and sporting events, Candy Cane Ball, Oktoberfest)
